Dan Scott

Presented by Southern Ministry Agency

Born in the Appalachian Mountains, in Southern West Virginia, Dan Scott has experienced culturally divergent influences throughout his life. In his childhood, he experienced the spiritual strengths of African-American and Appalachian White Pentecostals. When his missionary parents moved to South America, he experienced the challenges and opportunities of learning a second language and a second culture. In early adulthood, his experiences were further enriched by his missionary work throughout Latin America and then among French-Canadians and Haitians in Quebec.

In these experiences, Dan Scott’s cultural and spiritual life continued to expand through his academic studies and his growing ties to Christians of all denominations. The fruit of his global interests gradually led him to champion a convergence of Christianity’s three spiritual streams: the sacramental, the evangelical, and the Charismatic. He is passionate about helping believers learn how to draw from the different strengths and divergent gifts of the whole family of God. To this end, he has worked to encourage spiritual environments that celebrate the traditions of Christian faith, the freedom of the Holy Spirit, and the Evangelical foundation of the Holy Scripture.

Dan Scott is an ordained minister in the Anglican Mission in the Americas, a movement that grew out of the East African Revivals of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
