Who is Shellem Cline?

Shellem Cline is a nationally recognized Christian artist who has performed on the professional level for seven years. Cline began his career on a local level singing Gospel Music with his family, the Gilbert Family. In 2004 Cline’s grandfather Carl Gilbert was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and shortly after, the family left the road. For two years Shellem traveled on a regional level as a solo artist and in 2006, at the age of 18, became a professional within the Christian music industry. Since his “professional” beginning in 2006, Cline has received multiple honors including young excelling individual of the year (2013), New Excelling Artist (2012), favorite vocalist (2013), Songwriter of the year (2014), Southern Gospel Forerunner (2014) and many nominations for other prestigious awards. Cline has also received 8 top 80 hits in the Southern Gospel industry, two of which Cline was the writer. Cline’s most popular hit, “Dinner With Jesus” came on the scene in October 2014, and worked its way to number 4 on the national chart.

Cline stated in a press conference that “I feel that I need to use the talent that God has given me to reach a world that most people today forget about, a world that needs good news and encouragement. We are use to gathering at church and giving encouragement, inspiration, and the message of the gospel to the believers, but we often forget about the individuals outside of church that needs to hear the good news to.” Cline continued with “I feel that God is calling me to share humor, inspiration, and of course the message of hope in Christ to people that need it the most, the unbeliever.” With this being said, Cline has focused his music on not only the church, but those who would never set foot in the church house, the ones that need the message of Christ but is often forgotten about.
